The main rail route is from Havana to Santiago de Cuba, and there are two trains daily. There are also through trains to other major cities or towns.
Road
For car rentals, a National driving license or International Driving Permit is required.
All internal travel arrangements are made in advance through Cubatur. Tours are conducted on comfortable air conditioned motor coaches. Fares are cheap, and service is reliable, but the buses are generally quite crowded with locals also taking them between towns.
Taxis
Taxis are cheap but often unobtainable. It's best to order them through your hotel. Fares should be pre-arranged.
